A serving police officer has been charged with computer misuse and data protection offences.
PC Matthew Oaten, who works for Thames Valley Police in Banbury, was charged today with two counts of computer misuse and two counts of breaching the Data Protection Act.
The 29-year-old was suspended from his post in June in connection with the allegations, which happened in February 2013 and May this year.
Some of the allegations relate to incidents when PC Oaten was on duty.
He will appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court next month.
