A known traffic hotspot in the town centre will be monitored by Cherwell District Council to help keep track of the level of air pollution.
Kings End, Queens Avenue and Field Street near the town centre have been designated an air quality management area following a council meeting on Monday.
The district council will now work on an action plan to help improve the nitrogen dioxide levels in the area.
An assessment found nitrogen dioxide emitted by vehicles is a cause for concern about pollution in North Oxfordshire.
