BANBURY United were forced to settle for a point as hosts Larkhall Athletic twice came from behind to draw 2-2 in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West.

The Puritans took the lead on 23 minutes after Ricky Johnson latched onto Andy Gunn’s pass and nicked the ball past goalkeeper Kyle Phillips.

Leam Howards then hit the bar as Banbury went in at the interval with a 1-0 lead.

However, their advantage was wiped out within minutes of the restart, as Jamie Lyons scored from close range for the Somerset club.

Banbury got a foothold back in the game and retook the lead when Louis Joyce ran onto a through ball and fired past Phillips into the net.

However, five minutes from time Larkhall equalised, when Lyons headed home a deep cross.

Joyce could have won it at the death after he was put through on goal by Zac McEachran, but was denied by the on-rushing Phillips.

Banbury Utd: Harding, White, Partner (Steedman 66), Martin, Cox (Browne 59), Gunn, Bell, McLaughlin, Johnson, Howards (Joyce HT), McEachran.
