WOMEN and girls all across Oxfordshire can enjoy a fun 5k race with a splash of colour this month.

Events group Run or Dye has linked up with campaign This Girl Can to encourage and inspire more women to become active through running.

Women of all ages and running abilities will be able to take part in the Run or Dye five-kilometre event at Cornbury Park, Charlbury, on Saturday, September 26, where participants will have specially-made dye, of all different colours, thrown at them as they make their way around the course.

This Girl Can, a campaign developed by Sport England, is a celebration of active women up and down the country who are exercising without caring how well they do it or how they look.

Yvonne Turner, of Run or Dye events, said: “We’re delighted to be working alongside This Girl Can to encourage more women to get active and have fun at the same time.

“Run or Dye has always been open to all, giving runners, walkers and all speeds in between, the opportunity to experience and celebrate in full colour the thrill of the Festival and introduce the idea of ‘living life on purpose’.”

Rick Jenner, for This Girl Can, added: “The Run or Dye series is a great way to inspire and motivate real women to feel good and take part in running.

“These events are fun and anyone can have a go.

“At a Run or Dye event it doesn’t matter how fast you run but just that you run.”
