ENGINEERS have removed more than half of the landslip blocking rail travel between Banbury and Leamington Spa.
A spokesman for Network Rail confirmed yesterday that teams have been working 24 hours a day on the site at Harbury Tunnel, where 350,000 tonnes of earth and rock fell on January 31.
He said that 200,000 tonnes have now been removed.
Network Rail continues to search for a more permanent solution to the site’s instability problems. Last week it stated that the railway line would reopen by Easter.
