VIEWS are being sought on NHS services for muscles, bones or joints as part of a review of services.

Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group – which makes most NHS funding decisions – is seeking views on musculoskeletal (MSK) services.

These include orthopaedics, rheumatology, podiatry, orthotics, spinal and physiotherapy at places like Headington’s Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.

An OCCG statement said: “Views from patients who have used MSK services within the last two years are being sought to help identify opportunities to improve current services and ensure that musculoskeletal services in Oxfordshire offer patients the right care, at the right place, at the right time.”

It said feedback from the surveys will be considered by patient representatives and clinicians.

The survey, running until January 9, includes questions about experiences of the service such as waiting times and communication.

No details have been given about how services could change.

Musculoskeltal planned care clinical lead for OCCG Dr Rob Russ said: “We want to ensure services we commission meet the needs of our patients, their families and their carers. To do this, OCCG needs to look at musculoskeletal services, forecast future need and ensure services are not only affordable, but also deliver high quality and efficient care.”
