WE live in austere times, if the Government is to be believed. Everyone is feeling the pinch, prompting many to turn to frugality to cope.
Good news then that the county council is willing to stump up some cash to help us out.
The introduction of “doggy boxes” to the county’s restaurants should encourage more to take home their leftovers.
If successful, it will reduce food waste, and let diners get a second meal later.
There could even be health benefits, meaning restaurant-goers don’t try to overeat, just to get value for money.
The stigma of being the one to ask for a “doggy bag” may end forever.
And who can resist last night’s curry the morning after?
