A CYCLIST reached into a motorist's car and grabbed him by the throat before punching him.

Police have today released this image of a man they want to speak to following the attack on Tuesday, May 20. 

A police spokesman said the 31-year-old motorist was at the junction of Highlands and Sussex Drive in Banbury at about 7.15am when he was attacked.

The cyclist had got off his bike, reached through the open driver's window and grabbed his throat.

He then punched him in the face.

Police have not said if there was any dispute prior to the assault.

The driver suffered cuts to both this upper and lower lips and bruising on his throat. He went to the Horton Hospital and was discharged later that day.

The man police want to speak to is described as white, between 30 and 35, 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in, and of medium but athletic build.

He has cropped light brown hair and was wearing black jogging bottoms and a black hooded top.
