FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at the back of a Co-op in Banbury last night, thought to be an act of arson.

A spokesman said the blaze, put out by one fire crew, began in a plastic flower display at the Queensway branch at around 11.24pm.

Thames Valley Police were called and firefighters confirmed no nearby buildings had been affected.

A spokesman for the fire service said it was believed to be arson.
