TIME is running out to sign up to the Katharine House Hospice Midnight Walk, which will see around 600 people walking through the night to raise money for the hospice in Adderbury, near Banbury.

The closing date for applications is next Thursday, and organisers are also looking for volunteers to marshal the event.

Event organiser Sheila Norton said: “In total we need about 100 marshals to make sure everybody is safe and going the right way, and we still need 10 or 12 more.

"We currently have just over 300 people taking part, but there’s always a really big influx in the last couple of weeks. We hope there will be around 600 walkers.”

This is the eighth Midnight Walk, which will see people leaving at midnight to go on a 10.5-mile circular route around Banbury on Saturday, June 14.

The annual event has raised more than £600,000 so far for the hospice, which cares for adults with terminal illnesses.

There is an £15 entry fee, which covers the cost of the event, and all walkers are asked to raise at least £25 in sponsorship for the hospice.
