A GRIEVING mum-of-three has raised £3,235 for a cancer charity in her mother’s name.

Gemma Allen completed a 13,000ft skydive at Hinton-in-the-Hedges airfield, near Banbury, on April 12.

She decided to do the jump after her mum Denise McLeese, 63, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and hoped she would be watching from the ground.

But nine weeks after Mrs McLeese went to see the doctor in December with pains in her abdomen, she died.

Mrs Allen, of Russet Road, Ardley, near Bicester, said: “I like to think mum would be very proud of all the money raised in her memory.

“I have been totally overwhelmed by the amount of money raised £3,235.”

She was watched by dozens of family members and friends, including her dad Dennis, 67, of Glory Farm, Bicester, husband Kevin, 38, and children Ellie, 11, Keira, nine, and Riley, four.
