CHILDREN picked up their pinnies and rolled up their sleeves for Hook Norton Primary School’s cookathon.
These youngsters treated their parents and teachers to a healthy pizza from a recipe by the Children’s Food Trust and Pizza Express.
More than 200 children from the village school took part in the national Let’s Get Cooking BIG cookathon on Friday.
Joe Dix, eight, below, front, with Let's Get Cooking leader Hazel Hope and Harry Mix, nine, said: ”I really enjoyed it, it was a lot hard work kneading the dough but I liked putting detail on the pizza and I got to choose what topping to put on.”
Alfie Simmonds put his design skills to the test, helping his friend Catherine Monelle, seven, design a union flag pizza.
The six-year-old said: “I thought it was really fun cooking altogether, it was complicated thinking what vegetables to put where but we made a brilliant pizza with a union jack design.”
Evan Morgan, seven, Lilya Macdonald, 10 and Cayden Watt, five, had a go at cooking the pizza.
Cayden Wyatt, aged five, said “I liked making the pizzas, chopping vegetables, but tasting it was the best.”
