KELLEY Spacey, whose mother died of pancreatic cancer, has thanked Oxford Mail readers for their ‘incredible boost’ to a national campaign for more funding into the disease.
Shop worker Mrs Spacey- whose mum Janet Priest died seven weeks after being diagnosed with the cancer – has spent the last three years trying to secure the 100,000 signatures needed to have pancreatic cancer funding debated in the House of Commons.
On Tuesday, at 10.57am, the 12-month deadline on her electronic petition closed with 106,010 signatures. Over 6000 more than needed. And an ‘ecstatic’ Mrs Spacey helped readers for their support.
Watch a video including Kelley celebrating the achievement.
