Health bosses have been criticised after a patient fell from a first-floor window at an under-threat OAP mental health ward.

The unidentified patient was able to overcome window restrictors at the Fiennes ward at Banbury’s Horton General Hospital last July, an investigation found. The patient was “able to over-ride the window restrictor and exit from the window”, the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust report said.

The Health and Safety Executive has given the trust an improvement notice.
