  • Steven Brockwell, 19, of Dalton Barracks, Abingdon, was convicted of drink-driving in Land of Green Ginger, Kingston-upon-Hull, on January 2. Had 227mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80mg. Given a 24-month driving ban. Community order made with 120-hour unpaid work requirement and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

  • Patrick Smith, 51, of no fixed address, admitted assault by beating in Coltsfoot Square, Oxford, on January 15. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge made on September 6 for racially aggravated harassment. Given a three-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. Told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
