THE deadline to submit bids for flood defence funding for schemes in Oxfordshire ended yesterday.
Among the bids was money for the £125million Western Conveyance Channel – which would carry flood water around Oxford to the west of the city.
They were made to the Environment Agency as part of the West Thames area.
The bids will now be considered before they are due for approval by the Environment Agency’s national allocation team in May.
The decisions on final allocations on the funding will not be made until December.
