No need for cannons

Banbury Cake: Police and Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfeld Police and Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfeld

Police and Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfeld has said the force will not use water cannons.

It comes as the Metropolitan Police said it is calling for the riot-control hoses to be deployed in London.

Mr Stansfeld said: “Thames Valley Police has not identified any requirement for a water cannon at this time.”
