Ilkley Film Festival has just secured a regional premiere of The Book Thief, starring Emily Watson, and is offering a prize to celebrate.

The Book Thief is a 2013 American-German war drama film, based on the novel of the same name by Markus Zusak. Directed by Brian Percival and written by Michael Petroni. It features a musical score composed by John Williams.

The film stars Emily Watson, Geoffrey Rush, Sophie Nelisse, Ben Schnetzer, Nico Liersch, and Joachim Paul Assbock.

The regional premiere of the film will take place at the King’s Hall, February 15, as part of the festival’s programme.

Ilkley Film Festival organiser Martin Pilkington said: “It is rare for such a major preview to be given to a first-time festival and as such we had to wait to get it confirmed from Fox.”

The tickets for the event will go on sale tomorrow, Friday.

Two readers each have the chance to win a set of official film merchandise – including a magnetic bookmark, mini book key ring, notebook, card and envelope set and book USB – plus a pair of tickets to the regional premiere.

To enter the competition, answer the following question: at which Ilkley venue will the regional premiere of The Book Thief take place?
