Residents in Oxford have suffered a power cut at their homes this afternoon.
Homes and businesses in the OX3 postcode area have been without electricity.
A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution said about 1,000 customers had been affected.
He added that a fault on the high voltage network cut power at 5.10pm.
Engineers restored power to 200 properties at 6.10pm, but are still working to identify the fault for other customers.
A spokesman for the company said: “It sounds like it is an underground cable fault which means they will try and re-route the supply.”
He said the fault could have been caused by flooding and thanked customers for their patience.
