A man was chased down a street and punched in the face on New Year’s Day.
The 24-year-old victim was walking in West Street, Banbury, in the direction of Middleton Road at about 8.15am when he was chased by another man.
He fell over, after which the offender, who had glass in his hand, punched him in the face a number of times.
He was treated for cuts and a puncture wound to his face at Horton General Hospital.
The attacker is white, about 6ft tall, with light mousey-coloured hair, clean shaven and about 18-years-old.
He was wearing a tracksuit and dark jacket.
Investigating officer, PC Matthew Oaten said: “The incident occurred in a residential street, so I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the assault to contact police.
“I would also urge those members of the public who stopped to help the victim to contact the police.”
