Police in the Thames Valley have arrested more than 200 people on suspicion of drink-driving since December 1.
Between the beginning of the month and December 23, 207 people were arrested in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire as part of a campaign by police.
The ‘Is it worth the risk?’ campaign has seen 169 men and 38 women arrested, a 10 per cent increase in arrests of men – up from 153 this time last year – and a 24 per cent decrease in arrests of women, down from 46 last year.
In total, 114 of the arrested people have been charged, with 36 bailed and 30 released with no further action.
This year’s arrests show a four per cent increase on the 199 arrests made during the same period in 2012.
