AN award-winning charity has received a welcome windfall in the form of a grant from a housing developer.
My Life My Choice has received a £1,000 grant from Sanctuary’s Grand Ideas Fund.
The charity, which aims to empower people with learning difficulties by involving them in activities, has more than 500 members and runs groups across the county.
It organises activities which help members improve confidence, combat isolation, improve skillsets, provide advice and make their voices heard.
The charity received the Prime Minister’s Big Society Award in October for its ongoing work.
Charity coordinator Bryan Michell said: “We are all extremely grateful for the kind donation from Sanctuary Housing. “The new equipment will help improve the delivery of our support sessions, while also enabling residents to develop new IT skills that will no doubt benefit them in the future.”
