Twitter tirade chef lands new job at another county pub

A HEAD chef who vented his anger on Twitter after being sacked from an Oxfordshire pub has landed another job.

After his posts were retweeted by thousands, it emerged on the social media site that Jim Knight has been offered a job by The Shepherd’s Crook in Crowell, near Thame.

On the pub’s profile it states: “Now employing chef Jim Knight, of international Twitter fame.”

Earlier this week Mr Knight took to the official Twitter account of his former pub, The Plough in Great Haseley, which last night had more than 4,700 followers, to complain about his dismissal.

He thanked people on Twitter for their support after tweeting: “I would like to point out I don’t know the password to @TheShepherdsCro twitter account.

“I wonder why?”.

Landlord of the Plough Steve Potts defended the decision to dismiss Mr Knight, who he said had informed his employer he could not work Christmas Day or any Sundays “in the near future”.

The Plough was bought by local residents in June 2012 after villagers raised £400,000 to keep it open.
