THE last thing patients visiting a doctor or hospital want to worry about is where to park, so we welcome the action being taken by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust to tackle an increasing problem.
And it is not only patients who are affected. There have also been more than 1,000 emails complaints from staff.
MPs including the Prime Minister David Cameron have shared their own concerns about some of the trust’s 43 car parks across Oxfordshire. Currently it is free to park at the sites, unlike general hospitals such as the John Radcliffe in Oxford, but clearly something must be done.
However, the resolution may not please everyone as it will inevitably see charges introduced. Members of the public should make their views known before it is too late and a decision is made.
