The following cases were heard at OXFORD MAGISTRATES' COURT

Jason Bourton, 34, of Fern Hill Road, Oxford, admitted possessing cocaine, a Class A drug, in Dashwood Road, Oxford, on July 31, and failing to surrender to magistrates on August 16. Also admitted possessing a single wrap of amphetamine in Cowley Road, Oxford, on July 7, cannabis, a Class B drug, at St Aldate’s Police Station, Oxford, on August 7, and failing or refusing to provide a drug sample in Oxford on September 3. Also stole Christmas decorations worth £249.99 from South Downs Garden Centre, in Brighton Road, Hassocks, Sussex, on November 10. Given a six-week and 14 day prison sentence and fined £150. Told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge

Lisa Williams, 29, of Harvest Way, Witney, convicted of two counts of assault by beating in Witney on January 11. Community order made with two-month curfew requirement and told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £400 costs. Restraining order made banning contact with victims or attendance at an address in Harvest Way, Witney.

Kenny Pinkstone, 25, of Kynaston Road, Didcot, convicted of using threatening, insulting or abusive words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Didcot on May 25. Fined £100 and told to pay £50 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £350 costs.

Scott Hadlow, 33, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Hythe Bridge Street, Oxford, on August 21. Given a six-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and told to pay £80 compensation.

Kerry Scotcher, 36, of Chaunterell Way, Abingdon, admitted stealing a pair of barbecue tongs and an air freshener worth £7 from a Co-op in Abingdon on July 15. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge made on September 20 for theft. Fined £100 and told to pay £7 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.

Nathan Shallow, 26, of Waynflete Road, Barton, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Hamel Walk, Oxford, on August 14. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.

Simon Airs, 37, of The Willows, Culham, admitted stealing cosmetics worth £4.55 from Bury Street Co-op in Abingdon on September 9. Given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Jonathan Burns, 46, of Walterbush Road, Chipping Norton, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Oxford on August 19. Fined £75 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Kieron Flynn, 28, of Elm Tree Close, Littlemore, Oxford, admitted stealing fragrances worth £223 from Boots in Oxford on August 20. Given a community order with a three-month curfew. Offender to remain at home between the hours of 9pm and 6am. Also ordered to pay £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Richard Markwell, 24, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted stealing cans of beer worth £2.22 from Sainsbury’s in Aylesbury on August 20. Given a community order with a six-month supervision requirement and ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge.

Craig Ford, 29, of O’Hanlon House, Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing two pairs of sunglasses, worth a combined £230, from the Sunglasses Hut in the Clarendon Centre, Oxford, on July 25. Given a community order requiring drug rehabilitation treatment for six months. Also ordered to pay £230 compensation and £20 costs.

Codie Charles, 22, of Cuddesdon Way, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, admitted possessing 3.18 grams of cannabis, a Class B drug, in Iffley Road, Oxford, on August 6. Fined £50 and ordered to pay £20.

Kieran Cole, 20, of Hill View, Uffington, near Faringdon, admitted driving drink driving on Old Wharf Road, Longcot, on September 15. Had 80 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge. Disqualified from holding a driving licence for 20 months.

Shaun Collet, 27, of O’Hanlon House, Luther Street, Oxford, admitted stealing a £7 bottle of wine from Bury Street Co-op in Abingdon on August 23. Fined £40 and ordered to pay £7 compensation and £20 victims’ surcharge.

Frank Tyce, 56, of no fixed address, admitted breaching an antisocial behaviour order after sitting on the ground for more than 10 minutes outside the Eastern and Continental stores in Cowley Road, Oxford, on October 2. Fined £50.

Peter Johnson, 55, of Trent Road, Didcot, admitted assault by beating in Didcot on August 30. Community order made with programme and supervision requirements. Told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.

Marc Harris, 28, of Springfield Road, Wantage, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Main Street, East Hanney, on August 25. Also admitted assault by beating in Main Street, East Hanney, on August 25. Community order made with a supervision requirement. Told to do 180 hours of unpaid community work and pay £200 compensation. Told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Peyman Ismaeli, 22, of Cowley Road, Oxford, admitted stealing an Apple Macbook worth £1,200 in Oxford between May 30, 2012, and February 3 this year. Given a 12-month conditional discharge. Told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Stephen Wilson, 43, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted theft by finding after stealing a handbag and its contents in the Covered Market, Oxford, on July 15. Stole a handbag containing £25 cash, an iPod, and two bottles of perfume, from Central Library in Westgate, Oxford, on June 8. Shoplifted a bottle of rum worth £22.50 from Sainsbury’s in Westgate, Oxford, on July 14. Stole a television worth £360 from Speedwell Street, Oxford, on July 22. Stole a handbag from The Head of the River pub at Folly Bridge, Oxford, on August 31. Stole a handbag from Keen Bean Cafe in Cowley Road, Oxford, on August 31. Also stole a handbag and contents worth £500 from Wagamama in Market Street, Oxford, on June 30. Given a 32-week prison sentence suspended for 20 months. Told to pay a total of £3,010 compensation.

Rhys Turton, 25, of no fixed abode, admitted failing without reasonable cause to surrender at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 9. Fined £30. Told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and pay costs of £100 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

William Morris, 26, of Suffolk Court, Deepcut, Camberley, Surrey, admitted shoplifting a bottle of cider worth £2.15 from Tesco Metro in Cowley Road, Oxford, on September 25. Given a six-month conditional discharge. Also told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

BANBURY MAGISTRATES

Colin Jackson, 55, of Plowden Close, Aston le Walls, Daventry, admitted shoplifting items worth £7,34 from Marks & Spencer in Bridge Street, Banbury, on September 2. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Stephen Foster-Dight, 56, of Marlow Bottom, Marlow, convicted of failing to give information regarding driver’s identity when required by a police officer in Banbury between November 19 and December 17 last year. Fined £375 and told to pay a £37 victims’ surcharge, and £90 court costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
