A GROUP of young engineers have put their careers in the fast lane after landing positions at motorsport firm Prodrive.
The Banbury-based business has taken on six graduates and three students on industrial placements as it seeks to recruit engineering talent for its advanced technology division.
Sofia Ruiz, originally from Spain, who has a masters degree in motorsport engineering from Oxford Brookes University, has joined Prodrive as a graduate trainee.
Ms Ruiz, 27, said: “I am really enjoying it — I have always loved rallying and motorsport and I really wanted to be able to work on projects where I could put in my own ideas.”
Advanced technology managing director Tony Butcher said: “We have recruited graduates before, but not on this scale.
“As well as recruiting experienced engineers, we want to nurture our own and build up a large pool of talent.”
