A WOMAN has suffered serious injuries after a van overturned on the M40 this afternoon.
There are currently severe delays after the accident at about 1.40pm which shut two lanes of the southbound carriageway between Junction 9 at Bicester and Junction 8a at Oxford.
Police said two people were left trapped after the white van overturned. One woman was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hosptial with serious injuries, while another woman in the van suffered minor injuries.
Police spokeswoman Hannah Williams advised drivers to avoid the area and appealed for witnesses to call 101 with information.
