A NEW centre that will improve treatment for people suffering from the most debilitating headaches was launched in Oxford yesterday.

The Oxford Headache Centre combines Oxford University researchers and clinical specialists from Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the county’s hospitals, to develop new ways of treating rare headache conditions.

Centre director and consultant neurologist Zameel Cader said: “This centre will bring together specialists from a wide range of backgrounds including pain management, gynaecology, psychology and physiotherapy to improve our approach to these very complex disorders.”

The centre, at the Churchill Hospital, Headington campus, was launched with a series of lectures highlighting some of the cutting-edge research in headaches.
