Pearson jobs are at risk

WORKERS at an apprenticeship provider are waiting to hear whether their jobs are safe after their parent company struck a takeover deal with a college.
Pearson in Practice, which operates from a site at Aynho Business Park, near Banbury, has agreed to transfer its operations to Mansfield-based West Nottinghamshire College.
But out of more than 500 workers, just 170 jobs are being retained by the college, with bosses unclear about how many of the 50 staff at Aynho will be kept on.
College spokesman Richard Skelhorn said: “It is too early to say how many jobs will be lost or saved.”
