Train repairs alter service

TRAIN track maintenance caused major disruption on Oxfordshire’s railways yesterday.

Network Rail said it expected to have the work finished by 2am today.

Track upgrades were planned for the lines between Reading and Oxford, and Oxford and Hanborough.

Replacement bus services were put on by First Great Western, CrossCountry, and Chiltern Railways to minimise cancellations.

What a biased article. Diversions and bus replacements might be inconvenient, but they are not 'disruption'. They will all appear on online journey planners and printed timetables will be put up around the station in advance of the event. If these run to time as advertised, it is not 'disruption'.
