Show gives The Wizard of Oz a soul twist

AMATEUR actors are off to see The Wizard in a new musical take on The Wizard Of Oz.
Odyssey Theatrical Productions is staging The Wiz – a soul music version of the classic fairytale – at Banbury Academy.
Ben Coleman, 19, who plays The Lion, said: “The whole cast has become a family, we all rely on each other and it shows throughout the show.”
Odyssey is a non-profit making company formed in 2011 to give people a chance to make it on stage.
The musical kicks off at the Wykham Theatre at the academy, formerly Banbury School, tomorrow, with two performances on Saturday, including a matinee.
