A JOB finder service has been launched by college and recruitment bosses in the first scheme of its kind in Oxfordshire.

Oxford & Cherwell Valley College is working with recruitment group REED NCFE Partnership to offer jobs to outgoing students.

About 20 jobs are currently available for those set to finish full-time courses and the college’s Get That Job scheme.

The programme offers free courses to unemployed people who get means-tested benefits and are not on the Government’s work programme.

It lasts from a day up to four months and helps students in areas like CV writing and interview skills. Current jobs include bricklaying and business administrators, and the partnership will include roles not advertised elsewhere.

College principal Sally Dicketts said: “This new partnership puts employment and employability at the very heart of the college community.”

The project, which links educational charity NCFE with recruitment firm REED, runs at the college’s Oxpens Road, Oxford, and Broughton Road, Banbury campuses.
