Kate Hudson has said she's in no rush to get married.

The actress got engaged to Muse rocker Matt Bellamy three years ago and had son Bingham three months later.

But Us Weekly said she told TV show The View: "I'm happy. (It's like) we're married. We've got kids and a family and we've got to find our time together alone."

Kate, 35, added: "We are in it. I think if we do get married it will be for the kids, really. For us, we're just happy."

The Wish I Was Here actress added: "I know that's not really necessarily a golden ticket but there is something beautiful about the security of marriage. And we'll get there when we get there."

Kate, who is also mum to 10-year-old son Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson, added: "I wouldn't say I'm conventional, but then again what is conventional these days? I've got two children from two different fathers so that's definitely unconventional.

"I'm actually a strict parent. I'm very strict. I'm strict when it comes to manners... I think kids get too much too fast.

"So Ryder of course wants a cell phone like every 10-year-old kid now. It starts around 10 and I'm just like 'You can get a pager.' He can get a pager when he's 12."
