According to Latino Review, the new as-yet-untitled Spider-Man film will be called The Spectacular Spider-Man and will feature a new young actor as Peter Parker and his webbed alter-ego superhero.

The movie is also said to focus on Spidey from his high school days, with the potential for multiple trilogies like the Harry Potter series.

Following Sony Pictures’ deal with Marvel, it has been rumoured that characters from Marvel comics will feature in Spidey’s world. Latino Review reports that the Sinister Six could appear in the first Spider-Man movie, alongside Iron Man and some of the other Avengers.

The Spider-Man reboot will be released in July 2017.

Drew has plenty of sci-fi cred, with his past works including Cloverfield, The Cabin In The Woods and World War Z. He has also worked in TV, having written episodes of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Lost and Alias.
