BANBURY gets the chance to relive some of the best music of the 70s and 80s when two very different bands play The Mill.

The fast and furious world of punk is recreated by the Sex Pistols Experience on Friday, September 14, while the distinctive sounds of And Finally… Phil Collins will fill the venue on Saturday, September 15.

The Mill’s programme manager Deborah Clark said: “The Pistols have a massive fanbase and we couldn’t have anyone better than the Sex Pistols Experience to play. They are the world’s number one Sex Pistols tribute – hugely talented and recreating the same electric atmosphere.

“In the same weekend there is a marked contrast – and a real treat – in store when we present an amazing Phil Collins show.

“And Finally… Phil Collins is in its fourth year and it’s a show that gets better with each tour.

“It is brilliantly presented with a specially designed backdrop and props intended to faithfully replicate Phil Collins’ 1994–5 Both Sides Now tour,” she said.

The two tribute shows are the start of a busy autumn season at The Mill and offer great entertainment for the weekend.

The Sex Pistols Experience recreate the same kind of awesome, explosive energy of the heavy days of that 1970s period when the band changed the shape of British rock history. The band gives a shiver down the spine as the musicians pay attention to all the minute details, the gestures and mannerisms of the Pistols in all their pomp and glory. They are guaranteed to leave the crowd wanting more.

And unlike some tribute bands, the Sex Pistols Experience members also bear an uncanny resemblance to the line-up of the group that was the ‘voice of a generation’.

The tone changes completely for the Phil Collins gig the following evening. The two-hour show captures the main highlights of an original concert and includes timeless classics such as One More Night, Another Day in Paradise, In the Air Tonight, Easy Lover, Sussudio, Take Me Home and many more.

It features the double drums solos that were the essence of a Phil Collins performance. This is the ultimate tribute to the music of Collins and the 11-piece band is fronted by Stars in Their Eyes grand finalist Pete Bultitude who provides ‘the voice’.
