BANBURY gets the chance to enjoy some great punk and new wave sounds when Daventry band SO77 makes their first visit to The Mill Arts Centre.

SO77 (their longer name Spirit of 77 is taken from the era of the members’ favourite sounds) are a four-piece outfit who have been gathering a strong following in Northamptonshire and across the region. Formed in 2006 on the back of the musicians’ love of the tunes of the late ’70s and ’80s, this year sees the band travelling further afield to play festivals.

If you enjoyed the sounds of The Buzcocks, The Ruts, The Undertones and of course the Pistols and the Jam, you will not want to miss this energetic bunch of musicians who recreate many of those unforgettable, favourite tracks in their set.

This summer promises a special highlight for the lads who are looking forward to supporting The Sex Pistols Experience and The Jam’d next month.

Providing the sounds will be Simon Lockyear on bass, Phil Beech on guitar, Nigel Lewis behind the main mic on vocals and Neil Gousbra on drums.

The gig takes place tomorrow (Friday) at 8pm in the Miller’s Bar at the Spiceball Park venue and tickets are £3.50 or £2.50 in advance. You can see more of SO77 on their Facebook page or the website – SO77.co.uk
