A PROJECT helping women return to work by teaching them new tech skills is expanding to Banbury and Bicester.

TechPixies, founded in Oxford by business woman and mum-of-two Joy Foster, has teamed up with Bloxham Mill Business Centre near Banbury and Stack and Jones accountants near Bicester, which will provide free meeting room space.

The next 12-week TechPixies course starts next month in Oxford and there is one in Banbury from November and a third in Bicester kicking off in February next year.

TechPixies is also hosting free digital marketing taster sessions on October 11 from 12pm-2pm at Bloxham Mill Business Centre and again on November 17 from 12pm to 2pm at Stack and Jones’ Stratton Audley offices.

Ms Foster said: “I’m delighted to welcome two new partners to the TechPixies family. “The use of Bloxham Mill Business Centre meeting room space and Stack and Jones offices will enable us to reach out to more Oxfordshire women who have a desire to return to work but feel they could benefit from new tech skills taught in a fun and supportive environment.”

The TechPixies programme has also launched in London, with its first digital marketing course there due to start in November, thanks to tech business, Azoomee.

Prime Minister Theresa May visited TechPixies earlier this year and praised Ms Foster’s efforts.

TechPixies is also looking for companies to provide returnships for women who have completed the course.
