BMW scraps another shift

A FURTHER shift has been scrapped at Oxford's Mini plant. An estimated 1,200 production workers were told, as the plant began its extended Christmas shut-down on Monday, that they would not be working the weekend shift of January 9-11.

Windrush Frozen Foods, which last year moved to new premises in the Windrush business park, at Witney, has been put into administration, with the loss of 70 jobs. The company was taken over by managing director Robert Arpino with partners Alison Rushworth and Alan Savage in 1995.

RM wins £12m schools IT deal

SCHOOLS computer company RM has won a £12m contract to provide ICT services to the London Borough of Hackney’s BSF (Building Schools for the Future) programme. The deal covers six secondary schools and four special educational needs schools, and will be delivered over three phases. RM will take responsibility for the design, implementation and day-to-day management of the ICT infrastructure.
